The American University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has opened its first research center outside the United States to Fusionopolis to strengthen its research activities in collaboration with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A * STAR).

The science center advanced digital, ADSC (Advanced Digital Sciences Center), is an extension of the U.S. with several laboratories and institutes such as the Coordinated Science Laboratory, Information Trust Institute and the departments of computer science and electrical engineering. It is this collaboration between research departments which led to the creation of the famous web browser Mosaic. Among the former members of the team, we note the presence of co-founders of Youtube,

The first research project in collaboration with A * STAR, Human Sixth Sense Program will be to solve the problems of under-use of information from storage and coding it for different systems. It will give a 'sixth sense' to computers to provide users with the necessary information with high resolution, anywhere and anytime regardless of the format supported by the device.

The direct applications of this project will be for example the provision of a medical database for general physicians worldwide to treat certain diseases, and dissemination of financial information to allow investors to make timely decisions faster .

19 members of the American university will be part of the team's new center of Singapore. 40 doctoral students of A * STAR will be trained through this new program, 25 post-docs will be linked to 40 students in Illinois will be assigned to the center in order to complete part of their thesis.
