A company life sciences opens a training center with a budget of SGD 3 million
The business of life sciences American Millipore has opened on 16 February 2009 a new training center to train qualified staff for bio pharmaceutical industry. The Workforce Development Agency (WDA) is among others involved in this project and aims to train hundreds of people in the new center through a program of upgrading for those already qualified and a second open to various profiles (managers, technicians, Directors of other industries, ...).
The WDA finance 90% of the training and the first courses began in March 2009. This training center is strategic for Singapore to attract and retain biomedical companies in Singapore. This new facility of more than 740m2 represents an investment of
3 million SGD (1.5 million) and is the third of its kind in the world, and the two other training centers are located in France and the USA .
